The Enugu State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended Juliet Ibekaku, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to President Muhammadu Buhari on Justice Reforms.
Ibekaku was suspended indefinitely alongside 19 other members of the party including six principal officers.
Their suspension was contained in a statement signed by Dr Ben Nwoye, Chairman, Enugu State APC and made available to journalists in Enugu on Tuesday.
The affected principal officers are Adolphus Ude (Deputy Chairman), Lolo Queen Nwankwo (Women Leader), Mr. Ikechukwu Oloto (Youth Leader), Mr. Louis Okolo (Assistant Secretary), Mr. Sydney Eze (former Financial Secretary) and Ebere Okolo (Former Treasurer).
Others suspended are Maris Jideofor, Valentine Nnaedozie, Ejike Ugwu, Rev. Jonas Onuorah, Mr. Elijah Ngene, Valentine Ikpa, Mr. Tony Ibekwe, Amos Chinenye, Desmond Agu, Greg Ngwoke, Obinna Okwor, Rufus Nwagu and Godwin Ani.
According to the statement, the APC National Secretariat has been notified of their suspension and the affected individuals have seven days from the date of the notice to appeal their case.
The statement added that the affected persons are barred from attending any function organised or sponsored by APC, adding that any member of the public dealing with them as members of APC does so at his or her own risk.
