South-East Governors Forum (SEGF) has thrown their weight behind the conduct of the November 4 elections in Anambra State.
The forum announced its position in a press briefing after a meeting in Enugu Government House on Monday.
The Governors appealed to all stakeholders in Anambra State to ensure peace during the election.
The resolutions of the meeting were read to journalists by the Chairman of SEGF and Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi.
On the threat to the Igbos in the northern part of the country, Umahi said Ohanaeze Ndigbo leadership briefed the meeting on the matter.
He said the Governors were in touch with the Igbos in northern Nigeria and the Governors in the North.
Umahi said they want to make sure that no Igbo man in the North is living in fear or threatened in any way.
He also disclosed that Geometric Power headed by Professor Barth Nnaji briefed the Governors during the meeting on how the company was maintaining EEDC installations in the zone and the Governors commended the company.
The Ebonyi Governor said they identified during the meeting, the existence of gas clusters in the South East and they want to get the people in charge of the clusters to see how the gas could be developed.
Other Governors who attended the meeting were the host Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Owelle Rochas Okorocha (Imo), while Governor Willie Obiano (Anambra) was represented by Nkem Okeke, the Deputy Governor of Anambra State.
